WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair reportedly went to an Atlanta-area hospital Thursday morning.

TMZ Sports characterized Flair’s situation as “very serious” and a “medical emergency,” although specifics regarding his condition were not immediately available.

According to Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp, Conrad Thompson said that Flair’s situation “is not as grave or serious” as TMZ’s report suggests. Thompson said Flair underwent a planned procedure that he wanted to get done before his roast, which is scheduled for Starrcast prior to All Elite Wrestling’s Double or Nothing in Las Vegas next weekend.

Thompson is Flair’s son-in-law and the host of multiple wrestling-related podcasts, as well as the organizer of Starrcast.

Meanwhile, Pro Wrestling Sheet’s Ryan Satin reported Flair’s trip was related to recent heart issues and that “it’s more serious than [Thompson] is letting on.”

Flair, who was placed in a medically induced coma for 11 days in 2017 after suffering a ruptured intestine, was reportedly treated at an emergency room Thursday.

The Nature Boy recounted in an Instagram post in August that he was given only a 20 percent chance to live when hospitalized in 2017.

Flair celebrated his 70th birthday in style in February at a surprise party in Atlanta that was attended by a cavalcade of wrestling and sports stars, including Triple H, Shane McMahon, Todd Gurley, Charles Barkley and Dennis Rodman:

Flair is widely regarded as one of the greatest performers in the history of professional wrestling. His 16 world title reigns are tied with John Cena for the most of all time.

He is also one of only a few people to ever be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame twice, as he was enshrined individually and as part of the Four Horsemen.

Flair is the father of current WWE Superstar Charlotte Flair, who is scheduled to face Becky Lynch for the SmackDown Women’s Championship at Money in the Bank on Sunday.
